Exit & Emergency Lighting

Exit and emergency lights often blend into the background, making them easy to overlook—but their role in life safety is critical. During a fire or emergency, confusion, disorientation, panic, and reduced visibility are common. When smoke fills a room or hallway, even familiar spaces can become difficult to navigate.

Properly functioning exit and emergency lighting helps guide occupants to safety when every second counts. A clearly illuminated egress path can make the difference between becoming trapped and safely evacuating a building.

Exit and emergency lights are available in a variety of sizes and styles, all designed with durability and functionality in mind. To ensure reliable performance and ongoing code compliance, Fyr-Fyter recommends routine monthly and annual inspections performed by our trained technicians. Regular inspections help confirm your system is ready to perform when it matters most—protecting people, property, and peace of mind.

We have your inspection needs covered

  • During monthly inspections we check:

    • We test the integrity of both light output and battery for a duration of 30 seconds, to ensure proper functionality
    • Thoroughly check for any signs of physical damage during the inspection process
    • Align the beam and tighten if necessary
    • Check AC power and change lamps as needed
  • During annual inspections we check:

    • Comprehensive 90-minute full simulation test
    • Check the battery and lens for any signs of corrosion or damage
    • Clean unit and lens as required, removing any accumulated debris or dirt
    • Adjust beam for proper placement
    • Once the unit successfully passes inspection, a sticker is added in order to meet the necessary record keeping requirements.
