What to expect

Your live fire training will be done by a qualified instructor at your facility. Your instructor will cover the following topics and explain real scenarios you may encounter:

Preparation

Your instructor will take care of all logistics before the training begins, which will include locating a safe area on your property to conduct the training, setting up the equipment needed and contacting the local fire department to advise them that live fire training is being done in the area.

Introduction

The instructor will cover the different types of fire extinguishers and their classifications, where to find them in the workplace, and what each class of fire extinguisher is rated for and answer any questions or concerns.

Education

You will learn the P.A.S.S. technique when handling a fire extinguisher, what to expect in different emergency situations, and common mistakes to avoid.

Live fire training

Your instructor will demonstrate the correct way to prepare a fire extinguisher for use, how to approach a fire safely and the proper technique for extinguishing a fire.

Practical application

The instructor will light the fire and guide you through the proper steps as you approach and safely extinguish a fire.

Question and answer

After completing the training, if you have any questions or concerns, our instructor will be available to address them and provide assistance as needed.
